ARTEDEA-BOHEMIARTE School specializes in teaching classical painting techniques between
Renaissance and the end of 19th century, with focus on how to paint the human skin.
Our Advanced Apprenticeship Program will teach the artists the techniques of Old Masters
(from DaVinci to Bouguereau), gilding and restoration.

Students can join the Program at any time.

Portfolio is required.

Painting program

Description:
The Artedea-Bohemiarte apprenticeship program is dedicated to advanced
students who want to master classical painting with a focus on rendering the
human skin.
In this painting course, you will learn the Old master’s techniques and art
history from Leonardo Da Vinci to William Adolphe Bouguereau, notably color
theory and the steps towards a finished painting, including imprimatura,
sketch, underpainting, colour layers, glazes, and scumbling.
You will explore painting technology, its impacts on the execution of the work
and the final property of the painting for example: colour mixing with a focus
on the properties of pigments, mediums, binders, and varnish, including the
drying times. You will experiment the importance of fat over lean application to ensure the
stability of the work and its preservation over time. The making of the brushes
will also be discussed.

For advanced students only.
A portfolio is required.

Schedule and duration:
Our classes run by terms of ten weeks for a total of 30 hours.

Classes are given in a private setting, once a week, in one of these time slots:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
From 10h to 13h and from 14h to 17h

Fee: 10 classes (3 hours each) - 450$

(Students are required to send two images of their work prior to the first class)
We discuss everything from supports to color mixing, mediums and varnishes.
Techniques from the Renaissance to today will be explored.

(Interactive online drawing classes given by Skype or Zoom)

Drawing is the foundation of all artistic endeavors, from painting to animation and even tattooing.
Drawing is seeing and understanding what you see; learn how to convey what you see to your audience.

CREATIVE DRAWING gives you the freedom to draw whatever you wish with our guidance.

  CONSULTATIONS ~ PAINTING OR DRAWING ~

Email us a clear image of your artwork along with your questions or areas of concern.
Our suggestions and recommendations will be clearly indicated on your image along with a
written explanation that will be emailed back to you.
Repeat consultations as often as you wish.

    CONFERENCES

  Open to ten participants at a time, our interactive conferences via Skype/Zoom will cover all things artistic, but we will mainly discuss old painting techniques.

Dates and times will be posted.

L’ARTEDEA-BOHEMIARTE est spécialisée dans l'enseignement des techniques de peinture classique de la Renaissance à la fin du 19e siècle, avec un accent sur la façon de peindre la peau.
Avec notre Programme d'apprentissage avancé, les artistes apprendront les techniques des maîtres anciens (de Da Vinci à Bouguereau), la dorure et la restauration.
Prix : 30 heures par mois (Programme d'apprentissage avancé) - 450$ CAN
Horaires : 10h - 13h et / ou 18h - 21h, du lundi au vendredi
